| production method | 1. The stearic acid and sodium hydroxide solution reaction, made dilute soap, and then with the cobalt chloride aqueous solution of double decomposition reaction to prepare. 2. After equimolar amounts of powdered cobalt acetate and stearic acid are well mixed, cobalt stearate is obtained in a quantitative yield by heating at 117 to 118 ° C. And distilling off acetic acid and water of crystallization. The reaction can also be carried out in an excess of acetic acid solution. 3. Dissolve about 15g of sodium stearate in 1L of hot water to obtain a clear solution. Add this solution to a slight excess of 1% Cobalt chloride or cobalt sulfate solution while hot, with strong stirring, after precipitation of the flocculent cobalt stearate, it is washed thoroughly by the pouring method until the soluble cobalt salt is completely washed out. It was dried in an air bath at 115-120 °c for 10-20h. After cooling and solidification, a cobalt stearate product was obtained, which was stored in a sealed bottle after crushing. |
